The principals of Bryteye Productions are Mike and Sandy Truman.

Sandy has a First Class Honours degree in Drama and English and an MA in Drama and Theatre Studies at London University (Royal Holloway). She has also been an examiner for LAMDA Examinations. She has directed professionally for many years for both professional and amateur companies. Sandy is the Artistic Director of the company and writes, directs productions and acts in them.

Mike has a DipAD from St Martin’s School of Art and ran his own Graphic design and print company for many years. Fifteen years ago, he retrained to become a teacher. He taught Drama and English to A level and, latterly, Media Studies and film production. He has now retired from classroom teaching but still teaches LAMDA students, Mike directs for the company but also deals with administration, publicity and design.

Together, in the 1990s, Sandy and Mike ran Fizz Theatre Company (unrelated to the current users of that name). The company was funded by the Foundation for Sports and the Arts, South East Arts and by West Sussex County Council. This company toured extensively in London (fringe) and the south east as far as Bristol for over five years. As the name implies, the company style was physical rather than naturalistic. Amongst the shows created were Metamorphosis by Berkoff and Anthony Burgess’s original play script for ‘A Clockwork Orange’ (by kind permission of the Author’s estate), and ‘A Doll’s House’ by Ibsen.

Bryteye Productions is based in East Sussex.
